And just like that 2021 has finished up. I hope that 2022 brings good health, peace, and joy for all around the World!
Let me start here by saying THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Americans in ALL 50 STATES for joining in to send cards of holiday cheer to our Troops, Veterans, Military Families, and for the first time to our MIlitary K-9 ! THe final count of cards sent out was…drum roll… 138,000 cards! They were sent all over the World, including to those deployed Stateside as they too are far from home during the holidays! A banner year for messages of care sent out as well as a significant increase in business, large and small, reaching out to partner with us. The season of giving was amazing and allowed us here at the Holiday Card Challenge and #cards2connect to expand our mission to send cards of connection, appreciation, and respect to our US MIlitary.
And guess what? The cards are still coming in from across the Country, Some of them will be mailed to remote locations that only get mail on a periodic basis and the Troops love their holiday greetings even in March! Some of your cards will get safely tucked away for the 2022 Holiday Card Challenge and will bring your cheer and warmth in the months to come
How do we thank hundreds of thousands of card signers? I write hundreds plus thank you notes and post daily gratitude blasts on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. I hope that the gratitude and thank you vibes reach you wherever you are! Please know that whether you wrote one card or hundred, you are a central part of the Holiday Card Challenge #cards2connect Team! IT TAKES A VILLAGE. And what a beautiful village we have across the USA!
We are busily wrapping up 2021, so much to pack up and store for 2022. After a “moment” to catch our breath and to review 2021, it will be time to gear up for 2022 Challenges. We have exciting ideas for this year. For example, the Concord, NC elementary school that sent hundreds of YAPPY HOLIDAY cards with a dog cookie attached launched the #cards4cannines aka #cookies4militaryK9 aka #cookiesforcanines ( we are deciding on an official name) Program and our MIlitary Dogs are already eagerly waiting for their 2022 treats! A large New England company in CT, NH, and MA adopted three Navy vessels and will be sending messages of care throughout the years to come. The possibilities are endless. And to think this all started with my intention to teach my children a gratitude lesson 19 years ago. Who would have guessed….
