How did the summer go by so quickly? School bells are ringing already in some parts of the Country; Halloween candy is out in the grocery stores! And you all know what that means… the Holiday Card Challenge is in high gear. So many of you sent in cards of care and holiday cheer since January, over 15,000 to date! Christmas-Hanukah-Kwanzaa-In-July resulted in card-signing picnics and business friendly competitions, the cards reflecting the generous hearts of so many Americans.
Now it is time to get down to the business of writing Holiday Cards. For those of you who have joined in before, the guidelines are the same. If you are new to the Card Challenge, first of all WELCOME and I hope that you find the card signing journey ahead, a fun and do-good-feel-good activity. Secondly. There are guidelines on the website that I hope you will find easy to follow. If you would like a easy one-page-go-to version of them, email me at holidaycardsnh@gmail.com and I will send you what you are looking for. And EVERYONE, please know that you can email me any time with questions and ideas!
Many of you have asked when is the deadline for 2021. The answer is October 31, 2021 BUT all cards will be accepted afterwards and will be mailed out for sure. We have been sending more cards over the years to our Troops who are stationed-in-place, meaning that they are deployed within the domestic USA. Those cards can go out a bit later than those that get mailed overseas.
I have great faith in all of us to recognize that our Warriors are far from home and that the complexities of the Pandemic have changed possible leave-time for them, keeping them away from loved ones for longer than usual times. Your cards makes huge difference in their lives, some keeping your messages for decades. Last year, I met a Service Family who had a card that was written close to 80 years ago! Your cards boost morale, bring smiles and laughter, happy tears, and most of all, they bring gifts of caring connections to back home.
Let me know how I can assist you, whether you are writing one card or many…#everycardcounts ! Please join us on Facebook and Instagram at Holiday Card Challenge and on LinkedIn at Dr Laura Landerman-Garber and Holiday Cards 4 our Military NH Challenge.
