October has certainly brought the flurry of Holiday Card Challenge activities and you all know that I LOVE it. We are talking on the radio airwaves ( WFEA WZID WMLL WOKQ), TV (ABC WMUR), newsprint ( Concord Monitor, Nashua Telegraph, Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle, NH Jewish Reporter) and more to come ! We are on lots of virtual Zoom card-signing events and most certainly, I am traveling around New England in my lil’ red Prius to deliver and to pick up cards. One of the very best parts of all of this is meeting so many folks with generous hearts, members of the US Military, Veterans, and their families. Your stories of kindness, generosity, Service and yes resilience during these complex times are inspiring. Please check out and join our Facebook Group HOLIDAY CARD CHALLENGE ( also on Instagram by that same name) for updated information and my daily #gratitude blasts! Check us out on LinkedIn under both Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber and Holiday Cards 4 Our Military NH CHallenge. We are so inspired by the energies that have come from individuals, families, groups, businesses large and small.
I am so grateful for the donations, also large and small, from so many of you to help with the costs of shipping the thousands of your cards to our Troops. Asking for donations may be the toughest part for me on this journey but I know that it is a part of it and makes all the difference to reach a “mission accomplished” goal of sending care to our Warriors. We have a sponsor-a-box opportunity in which your name (individual, family, group, business) is on the box(es) of 1000-2000 cards sent out. Also check out Givebutter.com under Holiday Cards 4 Our MIlitary NH Challenge or directly here on the website. Please know that I thank you from my heart whether it is a crumpled up $1.00 bill that a young child sent to “help a soldier” or a corporate grant!
DEADLINE questions are popping up a lot and I thought I would address that here as well. The October 31st date is what I like to call, a “fluid” deadline. It certainly helps to get your cards in by then as it takes time to proof, count and bundle and then mail but… I know that getting in the holiday mood takes some time to get jump started and many people like to tie their card signing with Veterans Day… that is JUST GREAT AND FINE! I will never turn a card away even if it comes on Christmas Eve or even in January. We promise that your cards will get sent to our Troops, either overseas of stateside.
Check out the How to Send page(s) on the website and I have listed NH Drop Stations currently up and running. Many have free cards to sign as well! If you would like to set up a drop station in your State, please reach out to me and I will assist in any way. I have always been so delighted with many local businesses that are more than happy to do so. It’s a win win for them as well!
NEW Drop Station: Walmart Supercenter Store on Broadway in Salem, NH will be accepting cards. In case you do not see a box, go to the Customer Service Center and ask for Heidi or Corey.
NEW DROP STATION: East Kingston Library NH
Get your crayons, markers, pens and pencils out. Grab a card , whether it is a holiday card or a blank card or a thank you card, or fold a piece of papaer in half….and lets do-good-feel-good and make the 2021 Holiday Card Challenge a success !!
