Happy June to all! I hope that this finds you and yours well. During such complex times, I find myself even more driven to reach out to CONNECT WITH OTHERS, whether it be family, friends, neighbors… even those that I do not know… yes I am that person who waves at you from my car and chats with you in the line at the grocery store line!
May was a busy month with Happy Spring 4 Our Troops mailings, card signing with Veterans, attending a Congressional Hearing on Veterans Issues, meeting with school children, and of course honoring those fallen Warriors on Memorial Day. I was, and remain, truly honored to receive the University of New Hampshire Granite State Award, sharing the honor with all of you who join in to support our Troops, Veterans, and their Families!
May also brought LTC JJ Johnson USA VP for Military and Veterans Affairs to NH. We spent a whirlwind visit taping a WZID Eye on NH segment, visiting with NH Governor Chris Sununu, COL Warren Perry and Ms Amy Cook of the State of NH Department of MIliltary Affairs and Veterans Services, as well as US Senator Maggie Hassan Staff, US Congressman Chris Pappas Staff, Operation Delta Dog, and many of our treasured VFW Members here in southern NH. Getting the conversation going for the 2022 Winter Card Challenge!
Summer is a great time to relax with families and friends! Also a great time, like all times, to remember and honor those who Serve our Country. Doesn’t it also sound like a swell time to get going on your Holiday Card writing!? No Holiday rush. No Holiday pressures. Just fold a piece of paper in half and create a card or grab a left over Holiday card or go to the local Dollar Store for some Thank you cards! For guidelines and writing prompts, go back to the website and all the info you need is there. If you have more questions or want assistance on setting up a card challenge at your business or in your community, email me at holidaycardsnh@gmail.com.
I have been asked recently about deadlines for 2022. As always, earlier the better is best. I love to receive cards by the end of October or right after Veterans Day ( Perfect time to be thinking about our Troops)… I never turn a card away even into December. Each card needs to be proof read and bundled up with care so it does take some time a you might imagine.
Any one wanting to donate towards the costs of shipping our cards, please visit Givebutter ( there is a direct link on our website) or let me know what would work for you. It is the hardest part of the process for me to do “the ask” but I have learned that partnering on our shared mission is delightfully accepted and desired by families, companies… the sweetest donation was a crumpled up $1 bill from a 6 year old who wanted to, “…help make a soldier’s Christmas fun” ! We are a 501c3 USA registered nonprofit. We also introduced in the last several years the SPONSOR-A-BOX, 1000 cards for $100 with the name of your company or family or neighborhood on the outside of the box, joyfully seen by all the recipients of the cards!
