Wishing you all a healthy, peaceful, and brighter year ahead. In 2020, 110,000 holiday cards of caring connection were sent out to our Troop, both deployed abroad and stationed-on-place within the USA. Your cards brought joy and smiles to our Warriors, each one offering a “taste of home” to the men and women in Unitofrm who Serve our Nation! The feedback form our Troops was across the board, absolutely wonderful as they recognized the heart that you into your messages ( and artwork!)
I am still receiving cards as of 2/5/21 and they are fantastic. Some of them are being sent out and some are tucked safely away for this year. While I may be taking a quick breath for a moment, it is not for long as a school in Camden NJ is working on a Valentines Day Challenge and a NH High School is currently working on appreciation cards for the NH National Guard who are protecting the safety of those in and around the Capitol in DC and her ein NH as well as those engaged in the Vaccine administration. THe Merrimack NH Lions CLub wrote 100 plus Valentines CArds for the USS Manchester and a high schooler from Immaculate Heart Academy in NJ created a service project to send cards to our National Guard. I love these efforts and welcome your ideas. If you would like assistance , for example, to set up similar projects, let me know.
These are certainly complex times in America and around the World. Embracing the journey of sharing appreciation for others and offering caring connections will help soothe our wounds and promote hopefulness for so many. Whether you join in to send those caring connections to our MIlitary or to those in your neighborhood, I applauded your kindness and generous heart!
