Honoring our Veterans last week brought to our hearts and minds, how spectacular our US Military Members and their Families are to our Country! So many of you reached out to us to join in on the Holiday Card Challenge! Literally thousands of cards arrived in the last several days, each card of care and holiday cheer more special than the next! KEEP ‘EM COMING !
As you might imagine , this is the go-to time for the Holiday Card Challenge! Card signings at schools & businesses! Drives for me and my Prius are daily to pick up cards from card stations and those who want to join in but do not have access to a drop box. Each one of your cards count and while the mailing days are approaching, no card will ever be turned away!
It has been an honor to talk with participants across the USA whether by phone, email, zoom, or text! I almost feel like I am on a cross country tour and the welcome embraces from north to south and east to west are amazing! I have learned so much about different regions of our Country and I have learned from each of you as to the reasons why signing cards is so important to you! Whether I am chatting with a preschoolers in Arkansas or on a Zoom card-signing with a sitting US Senator, I am humbled and inspired by your stories! Yesterday I made a video with the NH Commissioner of Education and then was honored to receive four cases of cards for the NH Veterans Home. What a surreal journey!
We proudly launched our first fundraiser on Givebutter.com —“$18 For 18 Years For $18K” – celebrating the power of generosity and the giving season that is upon us! We have been confronted with such complex times and the generosity of so many of you reflects the kindness and compassion of all Americans who want to support our Military and their Families! Each dollar will go directly to making sure that your cards reach our Troops this holiday season and for the years to come! Please think of us when you are considering your philanthropic goals this year and our shared mission of providing a “bridge to home” for our Warriors.
Many of you have asked about deadlines. While there will be a date in December when we will have to tuck your cards safely away for next year’s Holiday Card Challenge, please keep sending them even if they reach us after the Holidays. Just think of it as being proactive for next year and how each card signed will be more than ready to head out to the Troops in 2022!
Check out all the bells and whistles on our Website and please join us on Facebook and Instagram on Holiday Card Challenge pages. And please join us as well on our two LinkedIn pages, Holiday Cards 4 Our Military NH Challenge and Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber
