Happy summer all! Is it possible that the winter holidays are just six months away?
After these very long hard 18 months of COVID, I am hoping that healing for all is beginning! I have found that reaching out to others, offering gratitude and appreciation is helpful in moving forward.
#cards2connect has been amazing. Thousands of cards have been signed with care and sent to our Troops, both stationed in place and abroad. This week, I will be sending close to 2,000 cards out to our Warriors who are deployed overseas. The cards were created and signed by tots to seniors from across the Country! A Blue Star Family member wrote close to 1,000 just herself!!
#cards2connect is really the umbrella idea behind all the Challenges… the beautiful coming together of individuals and groups to sign cards of gratitude and appreciation. Your cards have a profound impact on those who receive them, connecting “strangers” with words of care. With so much separation during these last many months, the need and desire to feel and to be connected with others is all that more important! You know how you feel when you go to your mailbox and there is a handwritten note inside! You know how it feels to get a call from a friend or a neighbor jsut to check in on how you are doing! And you know how it feels when someone lets you know that they care about you! ALL OF YOUR CARDS BRING THAT JOY TO OUR TROOPS, VETERANS, and SERVICE FAMILIES!
CHRISTMAS HANUKAH KWANZAA IS JUST 6 MONTHS AWAY!!! I am already on the phone, sending emails, and posting on social media about the 2021 Challenge! THousands of Holiday Cards have already arrived and are packed up ready to go as soon as November comes! I can not wait to see your cards of holiday cheer this year. How about getting a head start and write some cards this summer. A rainy day or a summer evening are perfect opportunities to break out the crayons and markers. Summer company picnics and summer camp activities are perfect for card signing. Let me know if you want assistance; I am ready for your calls, emails, and/or posts!
